Elizabeth Jensen, northeast regional director

Elizabeth Jensen is the director of the northeast region, after previously serving as the executive director for Best Friends in New York. In this capacity, Elizabeth coordinates lifesaving collaboration across the 10 states of the northeast region, and heads up New York's local program work — including Best Friend’s east coast Super Adoption and Strut Your Mutt. Elizabeth also oversees operations at Best Friends Pet Adoption Center located in the heart of SoHo, designed to be a national lifesaving concept space that showcases adoptable dogs and cats from multiple regional 501(c)(3) organizations and the New York city sheltering system. Elizabeth works closely with the Best Friends Network specialist in the Northeast Region to drive lifesaving and spur collaboration.

Prior to coming on board with Best Friends, Elizabeth worked for 17 years in a leadership capacity at Bergdorf Goodman, an iconic New York City luxury retailer, and graduated Rutgers University with majors in political science and medieval studies. A supporter and volunteer of Best Friends for over 15 years, Elizabeth currently lives in Connecticut with her rescue dog Scout, and her rescue standardbred racehorse, Music.
