Flynn is active and very engaging with his people. He was extremely shy and fearful with strangers when he first came to the Sanctuary, but he's improved greatly with meeting new people. If you take the time to get to know him and earn his trust, he can be very affectionate, silly and playful. He loves to go for long walks and would make a great adventure buddy. Flynn gets along with various types of dogs at the Sanctuary and enjoys playing with them as well as simply spending time near them. Born in 2014, he came to Best Friends from another rescue organization. He's super smart and is crate trained. Flynn loves to jump into a car and go for a ride, but he is a very active dog who also needs exercise and mental stimulation. At the Sanctuary, he is learning two fun doggie sports.
Because Flynn chases lizards, birds and vehicles, he needs leash walks and a secure yard. He is responding well to training that involves him checking in with his handler instead of chasing and reacting to things in his environment. Flynn has some anxiety, and he also has a pretty strong fear of thunderstorms. During storms, his caregivers bring him inside to a quiet, secure room where they play relaxing music to calm him. He also gets a holistic treatment to ease his fear during storms. Although Flynn lived as a single dog in a home, he would do best in a home with a doggie friend. He has a generous sponsor who will cover his adoption fee.
