Sanctuary Visit Required

This sweet, golden boy pretty much loves doing everything: playing, eating, jumping, walking, chewing on toys and wiggling at people. Born in 2013, Guy's still very playful and fun-loving, but he also knows how to relax. He is very smart, catches on to training quickly and really likes to learn. He is crate trained and knows many basic cues, including sit, down, place, wait, touch, and paw. Guy is super interested in following his nose and likes to walk slowly along the Dogtown trails, taking in all the new smells. He enjoys nose work and agility training, which work both his mind and body. He is crate trained and is working on riding more calmly in a car. Currently, he rides well in a crate because it makes him feel secure.

Guy spent the first year of his life in an animal shelter in New Mexico. He's struggled with mouthy behavior in the past, but he's worked hard and improved greatly. He's only mouthy occasionally for leashing, and Dogtown caregivers follow a training plan to help him stay calm even when he's very excited. He loves the other dogs he's met at the Sanctuary, and while he can be a bit in-your-face with them, he listens well when asked to back off. He'd do best in a home without cats, because he's terrified of them. Guy is very sweet and snuggly, and although he can be exuberant at times, he really wants to please people. He has a heart of gold and would do best in a home with a patient person or family who can give him structure and time to adjust.
