Location: Kanab, Utah 

Hiring Range: This position’s hiring range is anticipated to be $15.80 to $18.00 hourly, depending on experience, plus great benefits!

Manager interviews will begin the week of December 30th.

Saturday 3:30pm-11:30pm (Front Desk) 

Sunday 3:30pm-11:30pm (Front Desk) 

Monday 3:30pm-11:30pm (Front Desk) 

Tuesday 11:30pm-7:30am (Overnight Auditor/Front Desk) 

Wednesday 11:30pm-7:30am (Overnight Auditor/Front Desk) 
 

Position Summary:  The Front Desk and Night Agent Auditor will perform concierge related duties at a highly professional level and will support guests in every manner on the phone, via email and in person. Responsibilities will also include verifying the accuracy of all accounts and income, balancing charges, and revenues, setting up the next business day, and reporting to Best Friends Accounting. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answer guest calls, e-mails, and record details of each for future follow-up.

  • Assist customers with planning and booking reservations for Best Friends Lodging. Options, available rooms, rates, and amenities. Upselling rooms and providing information on promotions. 

  • Communicate with housekeeping and maintenance departments to ensure prompt responses to guests' needs. 

  • Make reservations or appointments for guests who want to avail themselves of local entertainment or services 

  • Meet and exceed guests' expectations by anticipating the services they might require and suggesting local venues 

  • Maintain constant communication with guests and other Roadhouse departments and staff members. 

  • Oversees daily and after-hours Roadhouse & Mercantile operations including checking-in/out of guests, assisting guests with recommendations, requests and local activities, processing of payments and other guest -oriented tasks as needed. Resolve guest issues and ensure complete guest satisfaction. 

  • Verifies revenue from all sources is accurately balanced and follows up on any discrepancies; ensures room charges and taxes are properly posted to guest folios. 

  • Assists in the preparation of daily continental breakfast in Mercantile 

  • Performs occasional housekeeping, property cleaning as necessary.

  • Contacts Best Friends Security, Roadhouse management, EMT’s or Police and Fire when necessary. 

  • Supports all Roadhouse departments and Best Friends Sanctuary Experience Division and as assigned. 

Skills and Experience:     

  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service is strongly preferred. The ability to create a welcoming and positive experience for our guests.

  • Must have proficiency with a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, research, and presentation software (Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and related software).  

  • Strong interpersonal skills, i.e., ability to develop positive relationships with others and demonstrate sensitivity to the thoughts, feelings and perspectives of others. Accurate, appropriate, clear and concise written and verbal communication skills as well as strong listening skills. 

  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail. 

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands. 

  • Demonstrates personal accountability to ensure that all responsibilities are completed effectively and in a timely manner. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to routinely lift 30-40 pounds   

  • Daily exposure to dogs, cats and other animals of all sizes, temperaments, and medical status. Must be okay with exposure to various animal allergens.

  • Must be able to perform physical activity on a frequent basis, including, but not limited to: walking up/down stairs, lifting and carrying, reaching, stooping, squatting, cleaning and bending. 

  • Must be willing to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
