When you join Best Friends’ community of monthly donors — a group we call Guardian Angels — you’re making an enormous difference for homeless dogs and cats by providing the steady medical and emotional support they need, no matter when or for how long they need it.

From ensuring lifesaving medical treatment to providing nutritious meals, warm beds and the chance to find a permanent loving home, Guardian Angels make certain that homeless pets are never forgotten.

Indeed, Best Friends has been running the nation’s largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals for more than 35 years, working with shelters around the U.S. and passionate people like you to ensure homeless pets receive lifesaving care and protection — and the future they deserve.

Making an impact at every level

Dogs and cats are counting on Guardian Angels like you

As a Guardian Angel, you’ll help create innovative and collaborative lifesaving programs, find homes for pets who simply need a little extra help getting adopted, and provide lifts to pets from areas where they’re at risk to places where they have a better chance of finding homes.

You’ll also be helping to provide training and support to our thousands of network partners across the country, shut down puppy mills, save the lives of community cats, end breed-specific laws and more.

The animals benefit — and so do you

It’s the easiest, most effective way to support the animals. Becoming a Guardian Angel means you’ll receive regular updates on the pets you’re helping and the programs you make possible.

You’ll also receive Best Friends’ bimonthly magazine, the chance to participate in donor insight panels, special opportunities when visiting the Sanctuary, invitations to Guardian Angel events and discounts, and early access to new Best Friends merchandise. And with easy automatic deductions, it’s such a convenient way to give: Set it and forget it!

Signing up is simple

You can sign up to be a Guardian Angel using direct debit, your credit card or PayPal.

When you set up your monthly gift to come directly from your bank account, more of it goes to the animals because there are no processing fees and no interruptions in your support due to expiration dates or other changes.

Plus, you can select the date that you’d like funds withdrawn, you can easily make any adjustments once you’re enrolled and you’ll receive annual statements.

“I’m also so grateful that you guys exist, to save them all! I’m so proud of what you do that I tell anyone who doesn’t know about you to go to your website and see all the wonderful things you do, and to put their money into an organization that is so worth supporting!”

About Best Friends

Best Friends Animal Society is working to save the lives of cats and dogs all across the country, giving pets second chances and happy homes.

Just a few short years ago, cats and dogs were killed in staggering numbers in this country simply because shelters didn't have the community support or the resources to save their lives. That number is now less than half a million per year, but there’s still work to do to ensure a bright future for every dog and cat in America.

Best Friends operates the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals and is committed to saving the lives of homeless pets by working with shelters and passionate people like you. Together, we will bring the whole country to no-kill in 2025. Together, we will Save Them All.
