Black Friday just got a lifesaving boost with the #Holiday100 adoption marathon at Best Friends Animal Society’s Pet Adoption & Spay/Neuter Center in Mission Hills.

Best Friends will open its doors at 6 a.m. on Black Friday (November 28) and stay open non-stop until Sunday (November 30) at 8 p.m. Fees for the first one-hundred animals adopted during the marathon are dramatically reduced to just $10, and each adoption includes a free ID tag, bag of pet food, and one month of pet insurance.

“The holidays are an incredibly popular time of the year for people to add a pet to their family,” said Marc Peralta, executive director of Best Friends Animal Society, Los Angeles. “We’ve created a unique opportunity for people to find the perfect lap dog, smart cat and big breed, instead of the usual Black Friday lap top, smart phone or big screen.”

The #Holiday100 Pet Adoption Marathon will also feature special daily on-site broadcasts from media sponsors K-Earth 101 and KNX 1070, goods from local merchants and holiday gift giveaways.

The Center has 400 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies to choose from; each pet is spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, and vaccinated. “We will have adoption specialists on-site at all hours, eager to help clients make the perfect pet match for their lifestyle, and we encourage anyone in the market for a new dog or cat to come in and meet their new best friend,” Peralta said. “Potential adopters can also go to bestfriendsla.org to preview our amazing selection of pets or find out more about the promotion at http://bestfriendsla.org/holiday100.”

All of the dogs and cats at Best Friends Pet Adoption & Spay/Neuter Center originally came from Los Angeles Animal Services. “Every time you adopt a pet from our center, you’re potentially saving two lives: the pet you take home and the one who now has space to come to our center from one of the city shelters,” Peralta said. “That’s something to feel great about over the holidays or any time of year.”

The Best Friends Pet Adoption Center & Spay/Neuter Center is located at 15321 Brand Boulevard, Mission Hills. For more information, visit la.bestfriends.org or call (818) 643-3989.
