What programs and projects do you volunteer with at Best Friends LA?
I mainly spend my time walking the dogs and actually bonding with them. I help out the dog team staff as much as I can with anything I can do.
Why do you choose to volunteer with Best Friends LA?
I chose to volunteer with BFLA because everything they do in caring for the animals is absolutely amazing. They approach everything in proper ways and their message to the public is awesome!
How long have you been a Best Friends LA volunteer?
I have been a volunteer for about 3 years now.
What type of fun stuff do you do when you're not volunteering?
All my free time is spent at the shelter, and if I'm not here, I'm always somewhere spreading awesome stories about the dogs!
Do you have a favorite story to share about an experience volunteering with Best Friends LA?
A favorite story that happened at BFLA was when I met volunteer Suzy. I only ever used to come to Best Friends for community service hours and never really took the time to bond with the animals, but one day she introduced herself to me and she went on and on about these animals and the way she spoke about them really influenced the way I became towards animals. I began to do more and more readings on dogs and behaviors. Suzy opened my eyes to the different types of dogs there are and how to approach them in ways that were of their comfort. Not only did my bond with Suzy grow but my bond and connection with dogs grew. Because of Suzy I have decided to pursue a career in the study of animals!
Do you have any pets?
I have two dogs! Their names are Chucho and BonBon. Chucho is a mix between; Beagle, Pitbull, Chihuahua, and Dachshund. BonBon is a Maltese.
