End steep pet housing fees

CAMPAIGN ENDED

Unfortunately, efforts to improve housing stability for people with pets via SB 6064 and HB 2114 were unsuccessful. While we thought that leadership was continuing to seek a path forward for the bill, it doesn’t appear that will be possible before the legislative deadline. We anticipate this effort being reintroduced next session, which will give us several more months to advance the bill. Thank you to all who took action, and stay tuned!

Ask your state senator to support SB 6064.

[CAMPAIGN ENDED] We shouldn't have to choose between keeping our beloved pet and safe, affordable housing. Washington Senate Bill 6064, if enacted, addresses this issue by capping pet deposits and eliminating other pet fees.

Affordable housing is hard to find; it's even more difficult if you have a pet. Surrendering a pet to find housing is an unbearable decision that further strains our overcrowded animals shelters. SB 6064 would help keep pets where they belong; with the families that love them.
