Are you looking for a new best friend? More than a thousand dogs, cats, kittens and puppies will be eager to meet you at The NKLA Super Adoption. The fun takes place at Warner Center Park in Woodland Hills on June 3 and 4. Adoption fees start at just $10.

Hosted by Best Friends Animal Society and presented by BOBS from SKECHERS®, the event is one of six Best Friends super adoptions held throughout the country. Pets will be available from Los Angeles Animal Services, the Best Friends Pet Adoption Center, and dozens of other local rescues and shelters.

“The NKLA Super Adoption is a fabulous way to meet pets in a fun, festive setting,” said Marc Peralta, executive director of Best Friends Animal Society – Los Angeles. “Whether you’re looking for a playful youngster or a sweet senior or anything in between, we’ll have the perfect pet for you.”

In addition to adoptable pets, there will be entertainment, food trucks, and celebrity appearances. Admission is free and the NKLA Super Adoption will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days.

Leashed dogs are welcome at the event for meet and greets with potential canine siblings.  All pets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. Adopters will receive a goody bag filled with toys, treats, coupons, and more from Nature’s Variety, Petco Foundation, and  BOBS from SKECHERS®.

“Adoption is very cost-effective and humane,” Marc said. “You save two lives with every adoption – the one you take home and the one that now has space to come into a shelter or rescue.”

The NKLA Super Adoption is a key component of Best Friends’ No Kill Los Angeles (NKLA) initiative. When the NKLA initiative launched in 2012 the save rate at Los Angeles Animal Services shelters was just 57.7 percent. In the first quarter of 2017, the save rate was 89.4 percent, a dramatic increase.

“Every adoption puts Los Angeles closer to becoming No Kill Los Angeles,” Marc said.
