Looking for a new best friend? More than a thousand dogs, cats, kittens and puppies will be eager to meet you at The NKLA Super Adoption at Warner Park in Woodland Hills on May 18 and 19. Adoption fees start at just $25.

“Whether you’re looking for a playful youngster or a sweet senior or anything in between, we’re positive the perfect pet is waiting for you at the NKLA Super Adoption,” said Jennifer Pimentel, City Director for  Best Friends Animal Society in Los Angeles.

Hosted by Best Friends and powered in partnership by the Petco Foundation, the event is one of several Best Friends super adoptions held throughout the country. Pets will be available from Los Angeles Animal Services, the Best Friends Lifesaving Center, Los Angeles County Animal Care, and dozens of other local rescues and shelters. All pets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

“Adoption is a very cost effective way of adding a pet to your family because everything is included. Plus, you save two lives with every adoption – the pet you take home and the resources that space creates for another,” Jennifer said.

Admission is free and the NKLA Super Adoption will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Leashed dogs are welcome for meet and greets with potential canine siblings.  Adopters can receive complimentary pet-friendly items from event sponsors, while activities include entertainment, pet-related vendors, food trucks, celebrity appearances, and more.

Last year, the event found homes for more than 500 pets in just 48 hours thanks to Los Angeles animal lovers who came out to adopt.

“We’re hoping to get even more pets into homes this year, so we’d love to see folks come out to adopt, donate, or sign up to foster or volunteer and help us make LA a no-kill city,” Jennifer said.
