More than 1,000 shelter pets will be showcased at the No-Kill Los Angeles (NKLA) Super Adoption on Saturday, June 4, and Sunday, June 5, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Autry Museum of the American West in Los Angeles.

Hosted by Best Friends Animal Society and presented by BOBS from SKECHERS, the event is one of three Best Friends super adoptions held twice a year throughout the country.

“The NKLA Super Adoption is the perfect venue to find your new best friend. You’ll meet every type of pet imaginable, from playful pups and cute kittens to active adults and super sweet seniors,” said Marc Peralta, executive director of Best Friends Animal Society – Los Angeles.

The free, family-friendly event features entertainment, food trucks, and celebrity appearances, with a focus on adoptable pets from more than 50 local shelters and rescues, including the Best Friends Pet Adoption & Spay/Neuter Center in Mission Hills and Los Angeles Animal Services.

Adoption fees start at just $10 and leashed dogs are welcome at the event for meet and greets with potential canine siblings.  All pets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped and adopters will receive a goody bag filled with $650 worth of coupons from Petco.

“Not only does adoption save lives, it’s cost-effective, too,” Marc said. “The sad truth is that about 9,000 dogs and cats are killed in our nation’s shelters every day. By adopting your next pet, you become a key part of the movement to Save Them All and transform LA into the nation’s largest no-kill city.”

The Autry Museum is located at 4700 Western Heritage Way, Los Angeles. For more information, visit http://nkla.org/get-involved/events/nkla-super-adoption-0
