Foster unconditional love and affection this Valentine’s Day

This Valentine’s Day dogs and cats from Best Friends Animal Society, a leading animal welfare organization working to end the killing of cats and dogs in America’s shelters in 2025, are ready to spend the night. Instead of going out this February 14, why not make a dog or cat looking for a loving home your Valentine? Give them a night they’ll never forget that might just change their life - no prix fixe menus necessary.

Single cats and dogs in Houston, Los Angeles, New York City, Northwest Arkansas, Salt Lake City, and at the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, UT, are hoping to spend their Valentine’s Day in a warm, loving home. Residents of these cities are encouraged to welcome home a pet in need for just one night to see if there is a love connection –all they have to do is stop by the Best Friends Lifesaving Center in their city on February 14.

Fostering is an essential part of the lifesaving process and fosters provides pets an opportunity to learn that people can be kind, food is available, and there is a warm, secure place to sleep. This important step in the lifesaving process also provides crucial personality information on a pet to the animal shelter or rescue group, which can help make better adoption matches for the adoptable dogs and cats.

For those who want to continue the relationship after their sleepover, or even make it official, individuals can let the Best Friends team know they would like to continue fostering the pet or even adopt them.  There are dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and personalities just waiting for Cupid to connect them with the perfect adopter. To start a love connection, visit bestfriends.org.

About Best Friends Animal Society

Best Friends Animal Society is a leading animal welfare organization dedicated to saving the lives of dogs and cats in America's shelters and making the entire country no-kill. Founded in 1984, Best Friends runs lifesaving facilities and programs nationwide in partnership with more than 5,000 shelters and rescue organizations. From our headquarters in Kanab, Utah, we also operate the nation's largest no-kill animal sanctuary — a destination that brings our mission to life for thousands of visitors each year. We maintain the most comprehensive animal sheltering data in the country and make it accessible to the public — empowering communities with critical insights into the needs of their local shelters and how they can help. We believe every dog and cat deserves a home. And we believe that, by working together, we can Save Them All®.
