Female Mixed Breed (Large) named Duchess available for adoption

Duchess is currently available to meet you in person at Best Friends New York Soho Lifesaving Center located at 307 West Broadway, near Canal Street. The Lifesaving Center is open to visitors 11:00 am - 7:00 pm, 7 days a week.

Meet Duchess, an 8-year-old mixed breed female dog with a beautiful fawn and white coat. She currently weighs 78 pounds. Duchess is good with most other dogs. She is recommended for an adult-only household without other pets. She loves going on walks, knows the command to "sit," and is working on "stay." Duchess is very affectionate and loving once she gets to know you, although she takes a bit of time to become comfortable with new people.

Her foster report is showing constant progress. They say "She likes going out, likes go to the lawn and quiet places, when she likes the places she walks fast. And she loves to be petted, and likes to sleep beside me.". They have not found her to be dog reactive, but when other dogs get excited and bark, she does too. They report she walks nicely on the leash and is very good about waiting to go out without having accidents or acting out in the home. She always comes to her name when called. "She's really smart and understands lots of things you say to her...she loves go walking... And she loves to be petted for a very long time, and she likes to be around with people....".

Duchess is spayed, dewormed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. She is a super sweet girl ready for her new home.
