Our Lifetime Return Policy means that at any time during the life of the adopted pet, if the adoption does not work out, or if an adopter can no longer care for the pet, Best Friends will accept the animal back into our program.

How does it work?

If an adopter is unable or unwilling to care for an animal adopted from Best Friends, they may contact Best Friends and return the pet to the Lifesaving Center where the pet was adopted. In some cases, the pet may no longer be located near the Lifesaving Center where the adoption occurred. In that event Best Friends staff may arrange to accept the pet at an alternate Lifesaving Center or authorize an individual to receive the pet on Best Friends' behalf in order to transport the pet to a Best Friends facility.
