Male Domestic Shorthair named Rico available for adoption

Rico is currently available to meet you in person at Best Friends New York Soho Lifesaving Center located at 307 West Broadway, near Canal Street. The Lifesaving Center is open to visitors 11:00 am - 7:00 pm, 7 days a week.

Meet Rico, an adorable and gentle eight-year-old cat seeking a home who can handle all his cuteness!

Rico is the perfect mix of sassy, sweet, playful and independent. He will keep you laughing with his kitten-like antics: often you can see him chasing a crinkle toy or running in circles after a wand toy. He'll do most anything for a treat and enjoys perching quietly next to you or napping in a sunny spot.

Rico is working on enjoying pets and so far is a big fan of slow strokes along his forehead and nose - his foster is seeing improvement in his confidence each day! When he doesn't want to be pet, he will very slowly raise a paw in pre-swat as if to say "no thank you.

Rico doesn't take long to warm up and will explore his new space right away - he is quite the explorer. He is quiet and well-behaved and his little tongue often makes an appearance in the cutest way (see photos). He even gets along well with other cats. The only thing this perfect kitty is missing is a home to call his own!

Rico is currently on a special diet to manage his low-grade kidney disease but it doesn't slow him down.
