Shelters near you need help to save more lives. In 2020, nearly 829 dogs and cats were killed in animal shelters across Utah, but together with your help, we’re changing that.

Best Friends is working with animal welfare organizations and stakeholders statewide to save every pet who can be saved and reach no-kill through Utah by 2025. Your local shelter is counting on your help. Now is the time to get involved and make a lifesaving difference.

Best Friends calls Utah home

Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab is the largest sanctuary for companion animals in the nation. The Sanctuary is a haven for about 1,600 animals on any given day. Best Friends in Utah runs the Best Friends Lifesaving Center in Salt Lake City. The center includes a kitten care center and a spay/neuter clinic and offers pet adoptions.

Best Friends also helps support the Navajo Nation with food donations, spay/neuter services, vaccines and grants.
