Internship Scholarships at Best Friends Animal Society

Because of our generous supporters, Best Friends Animal Society can offer scholarships for internship programs. Once accepted into the program, interns are eligible to apply for the applicable scholarships.

Andy Kostuik Memorial Scholarship

Andy Kostuik’s family established this scholarship in tribute to Andy’s deep love for animals. A visit to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary ignited his passion to help. The positive, hands-on approach he experienced as a four-month animal care intern at Dogtown not only impacted him, but he also had a remarkable effect on the dogs he met there. “I would strongly encourage anyone to share in the experience that is Best Friends. It is a special place where people of like mind come together with a common goal and make good stuff happen.”

Sadly, not long after he started pursuing a career in animal care, Andy passed away. His parents decided to honor their exceptional son with a financial gift so that other people drawn to saving and improving animals’ lives can get firsthand experience.

Who may apply? Interns accepted into five-week animal care internships and species-specific animal care internships.
