Celebrate National Black Dog Day 2016
Need a cure for the Monday blues? Our photo feature is here to help provide a brief diversion from your workday routine with a small dose of squee, wow and awwww. Enjoy!
What is National Black Dog Day? Sadly, black animals are often overlooked when people are looking to adopt a new pet. National Black Dog Day, which falls on October 1 each year, brings public awareness to this issue and puts the spotlight on some dogs who would otherwise go unnoticed and unappreciated, simply because they’re dark-colored.
Enjoy some pictures that shine the light on the beauty and personality of some of the Sanctuary’s black dogs. And if you see someone you like that’s great, remember that all the photos feature adoptable pups.
