The Forest County Humane Society has embraced its mission of rescuing animals for the past 3 decades. We are a no-kill, open admission shelter. Operating since 1996 at our present location, We are committed to being a shelter from the storm and a safe haven for all companion animals by providing food, medical care and human tenderness. By taking a firm stand against animal cruelty and abuse, and through community education and adoption services, we continue to enrich the lives of animals. We rescue, rehabilitate and adopt out all breeds of dogs and cats. Every animal is given a thorough examination by a veterinarian before placing them in a loving home and all animals are tested for disease that affect them, such as Lyme disease, heartworm, feline leukemia and other infectious or debilitating diseases. They are vaccinated, de-wormed and spayed or neutered. All animals are lovingly cared for until being placed in their “fur-ever” family.
