The main goal of the Wyandotte Animal Shelter (WAC) is to find forever homes to the cats and dogs that are in our care. Once an animal is surrendered or completes the state mandated stray hold at the intake facility, Downriver Central Animal Control the cat or dog is transferred to the Wyandotte Animal Shelter. Once there they are taken to a spay/neuter clinic for surgery, along with a rabies vaccination and a heartworm or combo (FIV, FeLV) test. If the animal is need of veterinary care, the non-profit Pound Pals Downriver will cover the costs of that animals needs. They are under the care of (WAC) until they are adopted.
