Lodging and RV sites for Best Friends visitors
We’re OPEN! Our staff is working hard to keep you safe. For more on what you can expect when you visit, see COVID-19: Keeping you safe »
If you are planning a trip to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, we invite you to stay at our new Best Friends Roadhouse and Mercantile, located in the town of Kanab, just a short drive from the Sanctuary. Best Friends also offers cottages, cabins and RV sites, all conveniently located on the Sanctuary grounds.
All of our accommodations tend to fill up well in advance, so we encourage you to make your reservations early. We also suggest that you book any tours and volunteering shifts as soon as possible.
Best Friends Roadhouse and Mercantile
Experience the warmth of Best Friends hospitality at the Best Friends Roadhouse and Mercantile, our very own pet-centric hotel and your in-town connection to the Sanctuary. The Roadhouse offers you and your pet a home-away-from-home.
At the Roadhouse each morning you’ll be able to enjoy a complimentary vegan continental breakfast, and you can also take advantage of an on-site pet grooming facility, a complimentary guest laundry and a dog park with a seasonal splash pad. And if you are a Best Friends member, take advantage of our reduced rates for members.
With every detail designed with you and your pets in mind, the Roadhouse is an animal lover’s dream come true.

Best Friends RV Sites
Nestled among the junipers, the six RV sites have a view of beautiful red cliffs. RVs longer than 21 feet will have difficulty maneuvering some of the Sanctuary roads and parking areas. If your RV is longer than 21 feet, you will need a car available to get around the Sanctuary.
- 30/50-amp electricity, water, septic tank, 35-foot concrete platforms
- $30–$50 per night (March 15 through October 31, closed November 1 to March 15)
For more information, please see the Best Friends lodging FAQs.
If you are a Best Friends member, you can also see our FAQs for details about special member pricing from March through November.
Please note: Transportation is not provided, so you’ll need your own vehicle to get around. The Sanctuary is spread across 4,200 acres, and many of the animal areas are miles apart. Walking is not a viable option and bicycles are not allowed on most Sanctuary roads. You may also want to rent a vehicle to drive to and from the town of Kanab. Volunteers in Dogtown must have access to a car for an entire shift.
