Danny Trejo
Danny Trejo is one of Hollywood's most recognizable character actors, yet his road to success has been hard earned. He grew up on the streets of Los Angeles, and despite spending the latter part of his youth and early adulthood incarcerated, he has risen to become a great actor and better person. Upon his release from Salinas Valley State Prison, Danny became involved in programs aimed at helping those who, like him, battled or are battling drug and alcohol addictions. He is also a devoted animal lover and animal advocate with five adopted rescue dogs of his own.
Danny is best known for his memorable roles in such films as "From Dusk Till Dawn," "Heat," "Con Air," "Spy Kids" and "Machete Kills," as well as the popular television series "Breaking Bad" and "Sons of Anarchy."
Typically cast as a tough guy or hardened criminal, Danny is all heart when it comes to caring for his animals, promoting the vital importance of spay/neuter, and encouraging fans to adopt their pets from local shelters.
A longtime Best Friends supporter, Danny attended the grand opening of the Best Friends Animal Society Pet Adoption and Spay/Neuter Center in 2012, and more recently, launched the Best Friends "I Saved My Best Friend" celebrity photo campaign with two of his adopted dogs Penny Lane and Cash.
