Forget the latest electronic device, this Black Friday pet lovers can get the best deal of all on a “lap dog” or “smart cat” with free adoptions for cats and dogs at Best Friends Animal Society’s  Lifesaving Centers and programs across the country, as well as all animals at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, UT.

That means there will be dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens of all ages and sizes waiting to meet potential adopters on Black Friday, November 25th, at each center. Every pet is spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, and vaccinated, and free to adopt thanks to Embrace Pet Insurance, who is covering all adoption fees through December 31st.

Taking part in Black Friday promotions is a fun way to get potential adopters in the door, according to Best Friends Animal Society’s CEO Julie Castle.

“Who needs the latest tech gadget when a pet can provide unconditional love and companionship? Adopting a dog or cat is really the ultimate gift to give yourself and your family,” Castle said. “Since a lot of people have vacation time during the holidays, it can also be an ideal opportunity to acclimate your new pet into your home and daily routine.”

As the pets at Best Friends programs originate from animal shelters, adopters will make a huge impact in helping during a particularly crucial time.

“Many shelters are currently experiencing an overcapacity crisis, which puts more dogs and cats at risk of losing their lives simply because they have no safe place to call home,” Castle said. “Adoption is the most humane option when it comes to adding a pet to your life, because not only are you saving that pet’s life, you’re making space for another pet to come into the shelter.”

Adoption is also cost effective, especially when adoption fees are waived. Adopters can use the savings from adoption fees to put towards supplies such as collars, leashes, litter, food, or future veterinary care.

“Thanks to Embrace Pet Insurance, you can save a life and add love to your life this Black Friday, all at no cost. Plus, you’ll be part of the movement for America to become a no-kill country by 2025,” Castle said. “What could be a better way to kick off the holiday season than that?”
