Best Friends Animal Society's Los Angeles Programs has partnered with L.A. Animal Services to offer a pet adoption event every other month at the Northeast Valley Animal Care Center at 15321 Brand Blvd. in Mission Hills. The first of these events is this Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. The next one is March 26 and 27.

Dozens of newly groomed and healthy dogs, cats and bunnies of every breed, age, color, age and size will be there, hoping to meet their new perfect person or forever family. The animals are well-socialized and have been spayed or neutered, and the dogs have received two weeks of training to help them transition quickly into fabulous family members.

The Northeast Valley Animal Care Center is a spacious, clean, modern facility that is not fully staffed or currently open to the public due to city budget constraints. Some of the pets there have been brought in from the East Valley Shelter in an effort to increase adoptions. Many adoption counselors will be on hand this weekend to help potential adopters pick their perfect pet.

Best Friends is working with L.A. Animal Services and humane groups all across the country to bring about a time when there are No More Homeless Pets®
