Do cats hold a special place in your heart? Would you describe yourself as a cat person? If so, you’re in good company. Best Friends is excited to partner with FOX to celebrate a new television series, Call Me Kat.
The show stars longtime Best Friends supporter Mayim Bialik as Kat, a 39-year-old single woman who decides to spend her life savings to open a cat café in Louisville, Kentucky. And there’s even more to celebrate: FOX has generously pledged to donate $25,000 to help save the lives of homeless cats across the country.
The cats featured in Call Me Kat are lucky — they’re TV stars with loving families. But in real life, more than 1,700 dogs and cats are killed every day in shelters around the country, simply because they don’t have safe places to call home.
