Regional Engagement Manager for the Mountain West Region
Lawrence Nicolas is currently the regional engagement manager for the Mountain West Region. Along with the rest of the Mountain West regional team, Lawrence oversees Best Friends' external shelter and rescue relationships in the eight state region including the No-Kill Utah Coalition. Additionally, Lawrence manages the shelter outreach and events teams based in Salt Lake City. Lawrence began working in animal welfare immediately after college, taking a position in the adoptions and pet intake departments at the Dumb Friends League in Denver, Colorado. Lawrence relocated to Salt Lake City in 2012, and brought his knowledge and experience to Best Friends Animal Society and was the adoptions and animal care manager for Best Friends in Utah, managing the Salt Lake City pet adoption center, kitten nursery, and foster program.
Lawrence was raised in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and attended the University of Colorado, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication. In addition to his love of animals, he is an avid sports fan and enjoys sports of all kinds, especially football and skiing. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, Tiffany, and their three dogs and five cats.
