Costello, a seven-year-old male, just arrived and is still getting settled in, so we’re just beginning to learn who they are. Right now, everything is new—new people, new sounds, new routines—and we’re giving them time to relax, decompress, and show us their true personality at their own pace.

He is a sweet and gentle guy who takes a little bit of extra time to settle in. He is doing well in foster and is starting to explore. He is very cute and you can see he is trying hard to put himself out there and be brave. He will appreciate a supportive atmosphere while he adjusts in his new home. Costello loves being petted and will come right up to you for attention. His foster says "He was really shy to begin with and scared of people but very quickly became warm and loves attention. Costello is super cute and friendly and likes being pet a lot. He is super funny and goofy and gets excited to play with toys. Costello is the sweetest angel cat I have ever met. I would describe him as being very nice and innocent.
When you first meet him: He's shy and scared of new people and new environments at first. It took him about 2ish weeks to start trusting me and feeling comfortable at home but once he did, he chose to be brave and slowly built this incredible bond with me, where he went from a cat who hid above the fridge for weeks to one who rolls over for belly rubs and loves pets and playtime. He doesn't warm up to strangers quickly, but give him about a week or so and he definitely will. I have seen him warm up to sitters and to my boyfriend, who visited for a week and wasn’t very familiar with cats.
He waits for me to get out of bed before meowing for food. He follows me around everywhere but in a very gentle way. He has never shown aggression even when scared or when exposed to new people. He loves watching me do chores and just wants pets in between. When I get home from work, he runs to greet me and does his signature belly roll so I can rub his belly and scratch his head and chin. When I'm sick or sad, he lays by my feet.
He plays catch better than most dogs. I'll stand in the kitchen and throw a ball, and he jumps to catch it with incredible reflexes. We're working on him bringing it back to me, and he's starting to get the hang of it. He’s so much fun to have around. He also loves those string toys hanging from the ceiling, balls, and his cat tree. He plays a lot, for hours, and is very independent about it. He loves playing with me (or any human he trusts) and is also very good about entertaining himself. He is very independent and does well (eating, playing, using litter box etc.) when home alone. He gets zoomies at night, which I've learned over the past few months (especially with guests around) is actually a sign he feels safe and comfortable.
He eats all his meals and loves wet food and churu."
He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and has had preventative treatments to ensure he is ready for his next steps.
