A lifesaving coalition and resource center in Arkansas
At Best Friends Animal Society, we celebrate the special bond between people and pets, and we believe that every animal is an individual and a life worth saving. We know you do, too, which makes us feel at home in Northwest Arkansas.
Best Friends runs the nation’s largest animal sanctuary, along with lifesaving hubs in Los Angeles, New York City, Salt Lake City, Atlanta and Houston. But for years, Best Friends has been working with animal shelters, other animal welfare organizations and compassionate people like you to save pets across the country.
In that collaborative spirit and to Save Them All in Arkansas, in 2018, Best Friends formed the Northwest Arkansas Partnership for Animal Welfare (NWA PAW), a coalition of dozens of shelters and rescue groups across the region working together to save lives. Best Friends has distributed more than $100,000 in lifesaving grants to coalition members saving the lives of cats and dogs in the region.
While the pet resource center is under design and construction, Best Friends is helping to meet the immediate needs of pets in the area through adoption, foster and transport programs, as well as a new cat lifesaving center in Bentonville. The space will showcase adoptable cats from coalition members, local shelters and rescue groups.
