Mollie tell us.....

What programs and projects do you volunteer with at Best Friends LA?
Cats!  Both cleaning and socializing.

Why do you choose to volunteer with Best Friends LA?
I wanted to volunteer at a no kill center and I like that all the cats at NKLA seem really happy while they're waiting for their permanent home. I also love the staff and other volunteers...everyone is super nice.

How long have you been a Best Friends LA volunteer?
I've been volunteering since June 2015.

What type of fun stuff do you do when you're not volunteering?
I work for TrueCar and travel a bunch for work. When I'm home I enjoy yoga, hiking, and wine tasting.

Do you have a favorite story to share about an experience volunteering with Best Friends LA? Share it!
There was a cat, Teddy, that had been at the adoption center since I started volunteering...he was sweet, but definitely a cat's cat, and not super easy to handle. But I knew he would thrive in a home. Finally after about a year, Teddy was adopted and I literally cried. Now I follow him on Instagram (@teddy_mclovin_) and he's living the life of leisure in West Hollywood.

Do you have any pets?
I have two cats Chris and Crouton. They're both about 13 years old and I adopted them when they were little babies. They've been with me through all my moves - Orange County to Long Beach to Santa Monica to Ventura and finally back to Santa Monica. I call them my dog-cats because they like to fetch, greet me at the door and sleep at the foot of the bed each night.

What others are saying about Mollie:
Our early-bird volunteer, Mollie, has been consistently volunteered in the mornings with cats for quite some time. It's a lot of work keeping up with cleaning cat condos, but with Mollie's extra hands staff have really been able to get ahead in their routines. The cats adore you and so do we, thank you for all you do! - Erika, Volunteer Coordinator
