Why do you choose to volunteer with Best Friends LA?
I love dogs and always wanted to donate any time I have to help amazing causes. I read about Best friends and always wanted to visit the sanctuary so when the opportunity came I wanted to participate and started volunteering to help make a change in dogs lives.
How long have you been a Best Friends LA volunteer?
One year and four months
What type of fun stuff do you do when you're not volunteering?
I'm currently working to start my non-profit to save dogs!
Do you have a favorite story to share about an experience volunteering with Best Friends LA?
Every day that I'm grooming doggies at Best Friends is an amazing experience. People are great and I enjoy spending time making beautiful dogs look even more beautiful. The most rewarding experience is knowing they found a forever home after being groomed!
Do you have any pets?
I have five doggies! Two Lhasa Apsos that I rescued in Guatemala and brought here when I moved to LA in 2008, the boys name is Koffee and the girls name is Kandy, they’re 13 and 11 years old. Three Yorkies I was supposed to foster but ended up adopting! :) I just fall in love with them. One girl whose name is Bonnie, she’s 8 years old. Two boys: Skippy who is 7 years old and Snoopy is 10 years old. They all have their own special character and I love them so much.

Roxana always arrives with a smile on her face and is a joy for staff and volunteers to work with. Roxana has been such a wonderful addition to our volunteer team. She is genuinely kind and loving, not only to the dogs but also to the staff and volunteers.
