🐱 Meet Delilah! Delilah is a sweet, loving girl with a heart full of purrs. When you open her cage, she’s usually already rumbling with happiness, ready to greet you from her favorite shelf. She leans into every pet and scratch, soaking up affection and happily rubbing against your hand or the front of her space to ask for more. Delilah enjoys being close and handled gently, she’s calm when picked up, though she’s still learning that being held is safe. But even after being set down, she stays right at the front, purring and seeking more love and attention. This affectionate girl clearly wants to connect. She’s gentle, trusting, and eager for companionship, the kind of cat who will be a devoted friend once she’s comfortable in her new home. With a little patience and a lot of love, Delilah will blossom into an endlessly sweet and loyal companion. šŸ’– Delilah has just arrived in NYC and is currently staying at one of our trusted boarding partners while they get settled. They’ll be coming to the adoption center soon, but you don’t have to wait to meet them! In-person meet-and-greets can be scheduled by appointment. If you’re interested in meeting Delilah, reach out to our team and we’ll be happy to arrange a visit at the boarding facility. We’ll update this page once Delilah arrives onsite—but in the meantime, we’re thrilled to help you meet them early!

About Best Friends Animal Society

Best Friends is working to end the killing of dogs and cats in U.S. shelters in part by getting more pets out of shelters and into loving homes.

We’ve come a long way since the first known city reached no-kill in 1994, and now we’re closer than ever to making the entire country no-kill. Of the roughly 3,900 shelters operating in America today, 1,300 of them are not yet no-kill, but nearly half are close with 100 or fewer additional pets to be saved, and we know what to do to get them there.

Best Friends is committed to working with passionate people like you to save homeless pets through adoption, volunteering, fostering, and advocacy. In addition to our lifesaving centers around the U.S, we also founded and run the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals.

Working together, we can save homeless pets in our communities and secure a better future for our best friends. Together, we will bring the whole country to no-kill.
