Steak Nugget is currently in foster care and ready for adoption via our virtual process! Steak Nugget, a four-year-old male, just arrived and is still getting settled in, so we’re just beginning to learn who they are. Right now, everything is new—new people, new sounds, new routines—and we’re giving them time to relax, decompress, and show us their true personality at their own pace. Here’s what we know so far about his time in foster care: https://acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:VA6C2:b250c351-baf8-4c6c-93eb-… Steak Nugget is a big lovebug. He is very handsome and has a wonderful purr. He settled in beautifully with his foster family. He is a very intelligent cat. They say , "Steak Nugget is a big boy with a neck like John Cena's but he's got the personality of a gentle, affectionate giant. On arrival, he jumped out of his carrier and explored each room with his tail held high. The first night, he crawled into my lap as I was petting him, quickly settling with his paws making biscuits on my knee. Over the next 2 weeks, as he warmed up even more, he loved to hang out in the busiest part of the house and meow gently to each person walking by. He nudges your outstretched hand if he wants pets (good bet that he does!) and is a glutton for affection. He likes to sit near us and nap, even if it's in a noisy room. And if he hears any noise that might possibly be a treat bag being opened, he'll head over right away to investigate. He's a really chill cat, alert to but doesn't freak out from noise from neighbors down the hall or the robot vacuum. Over time, he's become more vocal, never noisy though, with a variety of meows, trills, and warbles that we're still trying to decode. He is a social cuddle bug who is affectionate with each member of our family, including 2 teenagers. He had a very calm personality and loves to get cozy near you or in your lap.". He is very social and likes to be pet and cuddle and play, but is not overly fond of being carried around. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has had preventative treatments to ensure he is ready for his next steps. Submit an adoption survey from above and our team will reach out via phone or email (check spam) to schedule a counseling call. For any additional questions, please contact fosternyc@bestfriends.org. Please remember, pets cannot be held or reserved.

About Best Friends Animal Society

Best Friends is working to end the killing of dogs and cats in U.S. shelters in part by getting more pets out of shelters and into loving homes.

We’ve come a long way since the first known city reached no-kill in 1994, and now we’re closer than ever to making the entire country no-kill. Of the roughly 3,900 shelters operating in America today, 1,300 of them are not yet no-kill, but nearly half are close with 100 or fewer additional pets to be saved, and we know what to do to get them there.

Best Friends is committed to working with passionate people like you to save homeless pets through adoption, volunteering, fostering, and advocacy. In addition to our lifesaving centers around the U.S, we also founded and run the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals.

Working together, we can save homeless pets in our communities and secure a better future for our best friends. Together, we will bring the whole country to no-kill.
