Misty Skye is on site at our adoption center in SoHo! Misty Skye, a three-year-old female weighing 57 lbs., just arrived and is still getting settled in, so we’re just beginning to learn who they are. Right now, everything is new—new people, new sounds, new routines—and we’re giving them time to relax, decompress, and show us their true personality at their own pace. She does have only one eye, but that doesn't stop her at all! Here's what we know so far from her Foster Sleepover - https://acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:VA6C2:205a7c27-2384-42c2-b2ec-… She is very sweet and friendly. Her foster says "Misty is a total sweetheart!! She is super silly and has so much love to give to everyone she meets. She is not shy or fearful and becomes comfortable in new settings very quickly. She is such a quick learner and has excellent potential to become a very well trained best friend. She was very confident and curious from the start, .... she was extremely comfortable. She has a very warm and playful personality. She is a big cuddle bug on the bed and couch and it warms your heart! She is strongly loving, energetic, sweet and loves cuddles. SHES JOYFUL, loves to play. When she got a little bit jumpy immediate correction worked and she settled. She’s great on a leash and is definitely learning how her missing eye works with so many ongoings around her. She went past dogs easily and DID NOT pull. She enjoys watching daily household tasks and is especially fascinated by the washer, dryer, and dishwasher. She makes us laugh when she gets the zoomies!" To meet Misty Skye, visit the Best Friends New York Soho Lifesaving Center at 307 West Broadway, New York, NY, near Canal Street. We're open daily from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. Please remember, pets cannot be held or reserved. Come by and see if Misty Skye is the perfect match for you!

About Best Friends Animal Society

Best Friends is working to end the killing of dogs and cats in U.S. shelters in part by getting more pets out of shelters and into loving homes.

We’ve come a long way since the first known city reached no-kill in 1994, and now we’re closer than ever to making the entire country no-kill. Of the roughly 3,900 shelters operating in America today, 1,300 of them are not yet no-kill, but nearly half are close with 100 or fewer additional pets to be saved, and we know what to do to get them there.

Best Friends is committed to working with passionate people like you to save homeless pets through adoption, volunteering, fostering, and advocacy. In addition to our lifesaving centers around the U.S, we also founded and run the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals.

Working together, we can save homeless pets in our communities and secure a better future for our best friends. Together, we will bring the whole country to no-kill.
