Snickerdoodle is currently in foster care and ready for adoption via our virtual process! Snickerdoodle, a six-year-old female, just arrived and is still getting settled in, so we’re just beginning to learn who they are. Right now, everything is new—new people, new sounds, new routines—and we’re giving them time to relax, decompress, and show us their true personality at their own pace. Here’s what we know so far about her time in foster care: https://acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:VA6C2:ba59a2eb-2882-4b29-9813-… Her foster says "Snickerdoodle has blossomed beautifully during her time in foster care. From her very first day, she was eager to explore her new surroundings, quickly finding her favorite cozy nap spots and warming up to me. That same day, she was already rubbing against my legs asking for pets - and she even chose to sleep at the foot of my bed her first night. Over the next few days, Snickerdoodle became increasingly affectionate and confident. She loves to follow me around the apartment, ask politely for head scratches, and cuddle up on the couch. One of her favorite activities is kneading biscuits in your lap while soaking up attention. She balances her loving nature with a healthy appreciation for alone time, happily retreating to a quiet, comfy spot for naps when she needs it. Snickerdoodle has a playful side too! She enjoys practicing her hunting skills with a feather wand and will happily entertain herself at night with her mouse toy. She can be picked up and held, and will gently let you know when she’s ready to be put back down. She’s especially fond of Churu treats and is incredibly gentle when licking them from your hand. She's the perfect mix of affectionate, playful, and independent - a sweet companion who loves attention but also respects quiet time and would be the perfect addition to any loving home!" Snickerdoodle is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and has had preventative treatments to ensure she is ready for her next steps. Submit an adoption survey from above and our team will reach out via phone or email (check spam) to schedule a counseling call. For any additional questions, please contact fosternyc@bestfriends.org. Please remember, pets cannot be held or reserved.

About Best Friends Animal Society

Best Friends is working to end the killing of dogs and cats in U.S. shelters in part by getting more pets out of shelters and into loving homes.

We’ve come a long way since the first known city reached no-kill in 1994, and now we’re closer than ever to making the entire country no-kill. Of the roughly 3,900 shelters operating in America today, 1,300 of them are not yet no-kill, but nearly half are close with 100 or fewer additional pets to be saved, and we know what to do to get them there.

Best Friends is committed to working with passionate people like you to save homeless pets through adoption, volunteering, fostering, and advocacy. In addition to our lifesaving centers around the U.S, we also founded and run the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals.

Working together, we can save homeless pets in our communities and secure a better future for our best friends. Together, we will bring the whole country to no-kill.
