Sherlock is on site at our adoption center in SoHo! Sherlock is a six-and-a-half-year-old male described as social and easygoing. His favorite pastimes include watching birds from the window and curling up in a warm lap for a nice, long snooze. Here’s what we know so far from his time in foster care: https://acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:VA6C2:bf515e99-c9e0-420e-a43b-… His foster says "Sherlock is not shy at all and is extremely loving. From the second I brought him home he wants to be around every person who walks in. He will follow you around like your shadow. Will greet you when you come through the door. He’s very clumsy and will have a conversation with you. As time has gone on he’s become significantly more affectionate (wanting to sit on you.)" To meet Sherlock, visit the Best Friends New York Soho Lifesaving Center at 307 West Broadway, New York, NY, near Canal Street – no appointment necessary. We're open daily from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. Please remember, pets cannot be held or reserved. Come by and see if Sherlock is the perfect match for you!

About Best Friends Animal Society

Best Friends is working to end the killing of dogs and cats in U.S. shelters in part by getting more pets out of shelters and into loving homes.

We’ve come a long way since the first known city reached no-kill in 1994, and now we’re closer than ever to making the entire country no-kill. Of the roughly 3,900 shelters operating in America today, 1,300 of them are not yet no-kill, but nearly half are close with 100 or fewer additional pets to be saved, and we know what to do to get them there.

Best Friends is committed to working with passionate people like you to save homeless pets through adoption, volunteering, fostering, and advocacy. In addition to our lifesaving centers around the U.S, we also founded and run the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals.

Working together, we can save homeless pets in our communities and secure a better future for our best friends. Together, we will bring the whole country to no-kill.
