Ichabod is currently in foster care and ready for adoption via our virtual process! Ichabod, a three-year-old male, just arrived and is still getting settled in, so we’re just beginning to learn who they are. Right now, everything is new—new people, new sounds, new routines—and we’re giving them time to relax, decompress, and show us their true personality at their own pace. Here’s what we know so far about his time in foster care: https://acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:VA6C2:8c86fc16-f593-48c7-abeb-… Ichabod is a cute and cuddly boy, he is curious and affectionate. He is a sweet and loves to be around his people and be pet. His foster says "He is funny because he can be clumsy sometimes. When he first came, he pet himself by sliding his body across the coffee table that we have and still continues to do that. He jumps on surfaces and doesn’t land quite right sometimes. He is also the sweetest bean ever and loves getting pet and taking naps near his human. He also has the cutest little meows and makes the sweetest noises when he wants attention. Love the way he finds a place on your lap to take a nap when you are watching tv on the couch. And love the goofiness when he is exploring or playing with random objects like sticks or plastic straws." He's a great companion. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has had preventative treatments to ensure he is ready for his next steps. Submit an adoption survey from above and our team will reach out via phone or email (check spam) to schedule a counseling call. For any additional questions, please contact fosternyc@bestfriends.org. Please remember, pets cannot be held or reserved.

About Best Friends Animal Society

Best Friends is working to end the killing of dogs and cats in U.S. shelters in part by getting more pets out of shelters and into loving homes.

We’ve come a long way since the first known city reached no-kill in 1994, and now we’re closer than ever to making the entire country no-kill. Of the roughly 3,900 shelters operating in America today, 1,300 of them are not yet no-kill, but nearly half are close with 100 or fewer additional pets to be saved, and we know what to do to get them there.

Best Friends is committed to working with passionate people like you to save homeless pets through adoption, volunteering, fostering, and advocacy. In addition to our lifesaving centers around the U.S, we also founded and run the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals.

Working together, we can save homeless pets in our communities and secure a better future for our best friends. Together, we will bring the whole country to no-kill.
