Get the warm fuzzies with a new furry friend Valentine’s Day weekend.

There’s a certain someone just waiting to give you all the kisses you can handle for Valentine’s Day. Actually, there are hundreds waiting for that chance — if you don’t mind some hair or puppy breath. Because they’re of the four-legged variety and all of them will be at Best Friends–New York’s pop-up pet adoption event on Valentine’s Day weekend.

Whether you’re a hopeless romantic or an indifferent cynic, you just might find “The One” to make every day feel like a celebration of love. And if you do, you can take him or her home for just $25.

The Valentine’s Day weekend event marks the first in this year’s series of pop-up pet adoption events held at different locations around the city. All of the dogs and cats come from Animal Care Centers of NYC to help the city shelters reach and maintain no-kill status.

And all of those pets have something extra special to offer the lucky person who adopts them.

Overjoyed to meet you

Tyler, for example, wears his heart on his sleeve. You’ll never wonder if he’s happy to see you or not. Big, bouncy, eager to please and so very smart— Tyler has a personality combination that sometimes leaves him misunderstood. If you’re not prepared for a young, strong dog who’s rarin’ to go at the drop of a hat, the Tyler might seem to be a little rude.

He doesn’t exactly get the concept of “personal space” yet. Since dogs play by wrestling, shouldn’t you? He thinks so.

But know that he’s just itching to please you. And the best way to let him know what makes you happy is by giving him treats.

“Tyler is really playful and loving, but he’s young and inexperienced, and has never found that family willing to show him how to relate better to people,” says Kristan McCormick, adoption specialist for Best Friends–New York. “We’ve been working with him and I can tell you, he’s very smart, willing to learn and treat-motivated.”

Is Tyler the energetic diamond in the rough that you can mold into the perfect pet for your fun-loving lifestyle? Sounds like the perfect Valentine to us.

To find the one for you, come by the Best Friends pop-up pet adoption event at 159 Bleecker Street in New York City, Saturday and Sunday, February 13-14, from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. each day. Be sure to follow us on Facebook to see more of the dogs and cats looking for love with someone like you.
