Saving lives in New York City
Located in the SoHo neighborhood, Best Friends Animal Society in New York City showcases adoptable animals from local shelters and rescue organizations, as well as from the New York City open-admission shelter.
Dogs and cats here are housed in a playful, modern setting designed to encourage interaction and educate our visitors about the challenges facing our country’s homeless pet population. Felines live in furnished catteries with views of the busy New York City sidewalks for extra enrichment.
Best Friends Animal Society is bringing lifesaving tactics to shelters and rescue groups across the country in places just like the tri-state area. Based on a foundation of compassion and inclusion, we're working together to help both pets and people.
We want to make sure that everyone has the same access to loving pets and that every adoptable pet has the option of residing in the comfort of a foster home rather than in a kennel at a shelter.
