Abby Jones, Industry professional, university faculty and Vice-Chair
Abby Jones lives in Phoenix, Arizona, and serves on the faculty of at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. Abby has nearly 30 years of experience as a lawyer. In January 2016, she retired from her role as Vice President, Compliance and Corporate Secretary for QEP Resources Inc., a public company based in Denver, Colorado. Prior to going in-house, Abby was a Litigation Attorney practicing with several large firms in Arizona, Colorado and Utah.
Abby has volunteered with animal welfare organizations throughout her life, and she has volunteered for Best Friends since 2000, working at super adoptions, organizing fundraisers, and caring for dogs, cats, bunnies and birds. She has also served on the boards of a number of other organizations, including No More Homeless Pets in Utah, the NAACP's Utah chapter, the Rocky Mountain chapter of the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals and that organization's national board.
Abby's husband, Eric Hauenstein, is a retired Radio Executive. They share their home with Jasmine, a Desi dog rescued from the streets of Delhi, India. Although smarter, more athletic and better-looking than her human family members, Jasmine occasionally allows them to feed her waffles and other culinary delights of her adopted land.
