Celebrating Baby Doge

Our love for the Shiba Inu came from our passion for “doges” (dogs). The Shiba Inu holds a special place in the crypto community and is the reason Baby Doge is so cute!

Baby Doge was founded June 1, 2021. Seemingly overnight, the token amassed a passionate community, with everyone rallying around the fact that Baby Doge was designed to donate to causes that help save dogs. Soon after our launch, Elon Musk sent out the now-famous tweet about Baby Doge — and everything changed. We grew to sizes unimaginable and became one of the largest communities in all of crypto. Dog lovers now had a token to call their own.

Animal welfare and dog rescue are pillars of Baby Doge and its mission. Partnering with Best Friends on a state-of-the-art facility that reimagines what animal shelters will look like in the future, and how they serve both pets and people, was a no-brainer for us. Innovation is core to our team, and that is exactly why it made sense for us to help build the Best Friends Pet Resource Center.

We hope the Baby Doge sculpture becomes synonymous with our efforts to help find loving homes for all dogs and animals in general. When people see the statue, we hope they are interested in learning more about Baby Doge and finding out how crypto is helping to pave the way toward a future where we can save all the “doges.”

Baby Doge is proud to give a voice to those who cannot speak. We encourage those interested in adopting dogs and other pets to understand that it’s a long-term commitment and that your pet will become a member of your family. Pet ownership comes with responsibilities, so make sure you are ready to give your new pet a loving home in which they can live a happy life.

You can honor pets like Baby Doge, too

The Best Friends Pet Resource Center in Northwest Arkansas is a first-of-its-kind, fully reimagined animal shelter designed to support both pets and the people who love them.

As the future of animal sheltering, the Best Friends Pet Resource Center is more than just a place to adopt a pet. It’s a community destination that gives people better connection to adoptable pets and to each other, provides support for families to keep pets in homes, and offers opportunities for animal lovers to help make the state of Arkansas and the entire country no-kill in 2025.

It's also a place where we pay tribute to beloved pets like the Shiba Inu with the sculptures you see displayed around the center and grounds, and a place where we express gratitude for generous donors like Baby Doge.

You can save the lives of homeless dogs and cats in Northwest Arkansas and help keep families together.

About Best Friends

Best Friends Animal Society is working to save the lives of cats and dogs all across the country, giving pets second chances and happy homes.

Just a few years ago, cats and dogs were killed in staggering numbers in this country simply because shelters didn’t have the community support or the resources to save their lives. As of 2023, that number is 380,000 per year, but there’s still work to do to ensure a bright future for every dog and cat in America.

Best Friends operates the nation’s largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals and is saving the lives of homeless pets across the country by working with shelters and passionate people like you. Together, we will bring the whole country to no-kill in 2025. Together, we will Save Them All.
