Coalition of Animal Rescue Transporters

Coalition of Animal Rescue Transporters is a partner of Best Friends, working together to save the lives of dogs and cats in communities like yours across the country

The Best Friends Network is made up of thousands of public and private shelters, rescue groups, spay/neuter organizations, and other animal welfare groups — all working to save the lives of dogs and cats in communities like yours across the country.

From Coalition of Animal Rescue Transporters

The mission of the Coalition of Animal Rescue Transporters (CART) is to collaborate and share opportunities to transport rescue animals from shelters and rescues to the same in other states that have more adoption demand than in the Coalition members_ home area.

CART acts as a service provider to Coalition members, assisting with:
_ Client management _ finding new destination partners and finalizing transport relationships
_ Initial transport planning and logistics
_ Maintenance of Best Practice Standards, developing a high-quality transport program shared by members, and
_ Funding primarily by grants from third parties.

The objective of this Coalition is to provide a meaningful collaboration to increase lifesaving and meet shared missions. This collaboration represents a relationship beyond simple transfer of animals and includes opportunities for information sharing, educational assistance, and other efforts. The organization is a cooperative venture between animal welfare organizations to help individual animals and weave a stronger safety net for animals.
