Wags & Walks

Wags & Walks is a partner of Best Friends, working together to save the lives of pets in communities like yours across the country

The Best Friends Network is made up of thousands of public and private shelters, rescue groups, spay/neuter organizations, and other animal welfare groups — all working to save the lives of dogs and cats in communities like yours across the country.

The NKLA Coalition, led by Best Friends, is at the heart of lifesaving in Los Angeles. Coalition members can receive grants, connect and collaborate with other organizations to help further their work, participate in adoption and fundraising events, take part in mentorship and training opportunities, and more.

From Wags & Walks

Wags & Walks is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dog rescue organization that has saved more than 18,000 dogs since 2011, rescuing those most at risk from overcrowded shelters and placing them in loving homes. As the organization has grown, Wags & Walks is expanding its impact through its Wags for Good initiative, increasing access to free and low-cost veterinary care and critical resources that help keep pets with the families who love them. By addressing barriers to care and preventing pet overpopulation, the organization is working to tackle the animal welfare crisis at its root. Wags & Walks operates adoption centers in Los Angeles and Nashville, with additional initiatives, including its seasonal Hamptons Pup-Up in New York.

How is your community doing when it comes to lifesaving?

Our partners support each other and inspire their own communities to increase lifesaving of dogs and cats across the country.

Every partner has one common goal: to save the lives of homeless pets.

Adopt a pet

When you adopt a homeless dog or cat you’re saving the life of a loving and loyal animal. You’re also making space for other pets to find families of their own.

Foster a pet

Fostering a pet is a short-term commitment with long-term impact. By opening your home to a dog or cat for even a few days, you can save lives.
