The mission of Astoria Animal Society is to deliver high-quality, low-cost veterinary care, including spay/neuter and wellness services, to increase access, reduce pet overpopulation, and prevent suffering.

We focus on rescues that help owner surrenders, long-stay, harder to place senior (6+ years), bonded and pit-bull type dogs in shelters in the NY Metropolitan area and beyond. We provide need-based financial assistance to owners of senior dogs requiring veterinary care, so pets and families can stay together.

Most of our adoptable animals were anything but adoptable when we grab from the shelter. We operate solely on donations and grants, and every dime we receive is spent to benefit the animals.We are all volunteers.
