Pets Bring Joy provides safe harbor for at-risk homeless felines in the Washington D.C. area. We mentor/collaborate with grass-roots rescues/individuals to leverage their good works, providing them with a formal pathway for getting their cats adopted. We promote collaboration within the rescue community so that our combined efforts achieve greater outcomes than any one of us might attain on our own.

The Partnership for Animal Welfare (PAW) is a non-profit group of volunteers chartered to facilitate the rescue and adoption of homeless, shelter domestic animals, mainly dogs and cats, and place them in loving and stable homes.

LOVEPAWS is a 501(c)3 community outreach and animal intake prevention program that helps pets and their owners across the D.C. Metropolitan Area and beyond, with a focus on low-income pet owners in Prince George's County. We serve pets both in the community and in the county shelter with a two-fold mission. The first part of our mission is to help pet owners in Prince George's County and the surrounding D.C. metro area keep their pets in their homes and out of the shelter. We do this by offering pet owners various types of assistance including, but not limited to, free pet food through our county-wide food bank and other types of assistance such as help with vet bills. The second part of our mission is promoting the adoption and rescue pull of animals in the shelter, particularly of pit bull type dogs deemed illegal in the county and other at-risk animals, to help reduce euthanasia rates.

DC PAWS Rescue saves stray, neglected, unwanted and abused animals from animal control facilities and places them in safe, supportive and loving foster and adoptive homes in the Washington, DC and surrounding areas. We believe there is more to rescue than placing shelter animals into forever homes. We believe that rescue should support the people who support the rescue, and support the needs of the dogs and cats on their journey to a forever home. We are committed to: -providing the best possible standard of care for the animals we rescue; -providing all animals we rescue with the necessary tools to succeed, both -medical and behavioral; -educating adopters, fosters, and volunteers about the benefits of science-based, humane, force-free training methods, and committing wholly to the exclusive use of such training practices for the dogs and cats in our care; -treating all volunteers, fosters and adopters with respect, compassion and courtesy; -providing our fosters, volunteers and adopters with the necessary tools and training to succeed; and -educating the public about responsible pet guardianship, the benefits of adopting, and the needs of animals in high-kill animal control facilities.

Founded in 1991, Lab Rescue is non-profit organization committed to rescuing, vetting, fostering and finding loving homes for abandoned, homeless, and abused Labrador Retrievers. Lab Rescue also provides a referral service for owners seeking to place their dogs in new homes thus reducing the number of dogs surrendered to shelters.

Community Kitties Rescue (CKR) is an all-volunteer rescue. CKR works with local community members to cap the expansion of feral colonies. We seek indoor homes for kittens and well-socialized colony members, arrange barn or other "working cat" placements for selected individuals, and establish TNR colonies for feral adults when community members can provide food and shelter.

Frederick Friends of Our County Animal Shelter (FFOCAS) will support and facilitate efforts by Frederick County Division of Animal Control (FCAC) to minimize euthanasia of domesticated animals; enrich the shelter environment; and reduce length of stay, returns to shelter, and intake. We will achieve this mission primarily through fundraising, outreach, and education activities.

CHASE is an organization formed for the purpose of providing veterinary care and support for animals in a variety of ways. As part of the organization's mission, CHASE seeks to implement Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs in areas where feral (free-roaming or community) cats are in need of services. The purpose of TNR is to reduce the population of free-roaming cats using humane measures.

We are neighbors helping one another in PG County to care for and protect cats, while valuing and respecting our community and environment. PGFF's flagship program is a TNR Program - not just loaning out traps or funding spays and neuters, but a program aimed at population control and the welfare of all living things. PGFF is a local PG business, and works closely with other local PG businesses.

Homeward Trails Animal Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides pet adoption in Virginia, Washington, DC and Maryland. We find homes for dogs and cats rescued from high-kill animal shelters or whose owners could no longer care for them or were found as strays.
