The Humane Society of Calvert County, Inc., improves our community for animals and people by: sheltering and protecting animals from harm; placing them into caring, responsible homes; increase awareness through humane education and community outreach; endeavoring to reduce animal over population and to eliminate cruelty; serving as an advocate for animals by promoting humane standards; and enhancing the relationship between animals and people.

Working Together, Saving Lives One Dog at a Time. The goal is to save unwanted and unloved dogs from horrible fates including euthanasia. This requires volunteers and community donations to properly vet and care for these dogs until we find them a forever home through fostering and adopting programs.

The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Promotion of Humane Treatment for all Animals.

We are a rescue that is dedicated to giving every cat - feral or friendly - a chance at a good life. We consider ourselves a rehab rescue and dedicate time and resources to getting our cats healthy and adopted into loving homes.

The Adams County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ACSPCA), is an IRC 501 c-3 non-profit organization that provides shelter and care for lost, abandoned and abused animals, investigates cases of cruelty to animals, recommends the prosecution of persons engaging in animal neglect or cruelty, helps control animal overpopulation and educates the community about spay/neuter programs, animal wellness and safety.

Chesapeake Area Alaskan Malamute Protection (CHAAMP) is a non-profit, all-volunteer rescue organization that provides foster homes, kenneling, and vet care for Alaskan Malamutes who have been abandoned, turned into shelters, or are otherwise in need. Our goal is to find excellent homes for our dogs and to provide education, training suggestions, and other help for owners of Alaskan Malamutes.

Chesapeake Cats and Dogs, operates on the eastern shore of Maryland and rescues animals in seven Maryland counties. We operate an adoption center for cats, and run a limited dog program through foster and kenneling efforts. We have a 5-7% special needs population, including seniors and special medical needs animals, and are on a continuous mission to expand our effort in the no kill rescue.

We predominantly rescue and rehabilitate senior pets so they can live out their golden years with dignity and love. Senior pets come to us from a number of sources, including shelters and owners who can no longer keep their beloved pets. Pets stay in foster homes until we find their perfect forever home.

Founded in 1946, The Humane Society of Harford County, Inc., is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) open admission municipal animal shelter, dedicated to the welfare and well-being of the approximately 3,000 animals that come to us each year. Our mission is to promote the humane treatment of homeless, stray and abandoned animals by providing shelter, care, adoptions and community education.
