The mission of the Lafayette Parish Animal Control Center is to protect the health and safety of our residents, and to protect animals and promote their humane treatment. The Lafayette Consolidated Government Mayor-President, and the Animal Control Center is committed to moving to become a No Kill Shelter, and is making every effort to promote the pet adoptions of healthy, non-aggressive animals by the general public. Our mission is to work with our non-profit rescue partners, and continue to reach out to seek new partners across the country to rescue our animals. We are in the process of changing our ordinances to initiate a Trap Neuter Return component for our community cats.
Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for the dogs, cats, birds and other companion animals in the care of Lafayette Animal Control Center (LACC) and other animal shelters and welfare agencies in the greater Lafayette area. We aim to end euthanasia as the primary means of population control, and to reduce the number of homeless animals at LACC.

Positively Cats Sanctuary gives a loving home to cats who are Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency positive as an alternative to Euthanasia.
Acadiana Animal Aid is the area's largest no-kill provider of care and housing for abandoned/abused/neglected cats and dogs. We spay/neuter & provide medical care for over 1500 animals a year and house an average of 80 dogs and 120 cats. With no city, state or federal funding, community participation in our fundraising is particularly valuable. All monies raised go directly to the care of homeless cats and dogs in our area.
Our mission at Because Of Brucey is to rescue, nurture, and provide a safe haven for animals, specifically neonatal kittens in need. The Iberia Parish Rabies and Animal Control Department_s main purpose is to provide a public health program to ensure rabies vaccination and registration for all dogs and cats residing in Iberia Parish. The shelter also houses unwanted and stray animals picked up by animal control officers or dropped off at the shelter by citizens.

They have and continue to reduce the over-population of domestic animals in the area served by the society through spay, neuter, and vaccination programs, seek to return lost animals to their owners, and take pride in finding suitable homes for animals without owners.
Blue Angels Advocacy & Rescue is a nonprofit animal welfare group. We respond to all calls for dogs and cats in need after hours when animal control is not available, as well as anytime a citizen reaches out to us for guidance. We educate people about local laws & provide resources as needed. We urge authorities to report concerns about animal abuse or neglect when necessary. We have been in South Louisiana since November 2024.
"In December 2015, Law for Paws was established by employee-based volunteers of the Port Barre Police Department in Port Barre, Louisiana. Our story began with a Santa Paws event where a local Parish shelter posted their current needs on Facebook and we wanted to help fulfill those needs, but our passion to help didn't stop there - Law for Paws was born, and we_ve been hitting the ground running ever since.
