She’s the type of cat who blossoms with patience—when she first arrives somewhere new, she prefers to observe from a cozy hiding spot. But given time and space, Evergreen slowly comes out of her shell, showing more of her sweet personality each day. Evergreen feels most comfortable when she’s allowed to set the pace. She doesn’t enjoy being approached too quickly, but when you let her come to you, she relaxes and settles in beautifully. Once she’s comfortable, her playful side shines—especially at night, when she loves to run around and chase toys. Little toy mice are her absolute favorite! During the day, Evergreen enjoys quiet moments. You’ll often find her perched by a window, calmly watching the neighborhood go by. One of her very favorite parts of the day is story time. She loves to curl up, shut her eyes, and relax while you read to her. It’s her special way of bonding. She’s also fascinated by bubbles and will happily watch them float and pop. Evergreen’s favorite things include toys, story time, bubbles, sunny windows, crunchy treats, and long, peaceful naps. She’s looking for a calm, patient home that will respect her need for space and let her confidence grow naturally. If you’re looking for a gentle companion who will reward your patience with quiet affection and sweet moments, Evergreen may be the perfect match for you. About Best Friends Animal Society

Best Friends is working to end the killing of dogs and cats in U.S. shelters in part by getting more pets out of shelters and into loving homes.

We’ve come a long way since the first known city reached no-kill in 1994, and now we’re closer than ever to making the entire country no-kill. Of the roughly 3,900 shelters operating in America today, 1,300 of them are not yet no-kill, but nearly half are close with 100 or fewer additional pets to be saved, and we know what to do to get them there.

Best Friends is committed to working with passionate people like you to save homeless pets through adoption, volunteering, fostering, and advocacy. In addition to our lifesaving centers around the U.S, we also founded and run the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals.

Working together, we can save homeless pets in our communities and secure a better future for our best friends. Together, we will bring the whole country to no-kill.
