This handsome older gentleman may be a bit more mature, but he hasn’t lost his playful spark. He still loves batting at wand toys and will happily show you that age is just a number when it’s time to play. Afterward, he’s all about relaxing and soaking up affection. He’s looking to be the one and only cat in your home, where he can have all the love (and attention) to himself—and he truly shines in that role. One of his most endearing traits is his amazing motor: his loud, steady purr starts up the moment he’s comfortable. If you stop petting him too soon, he’ll gently tap you with his paw to politely ask for more. He has a great meow, like an old blues singer. This sweet boy would be perfect for someone who wants a devoted, affectionate companion with a calm demeanor and a playful side. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a loving senior who knows exactly how to ask for cuddles, he’s ready to meet you. *Gomez is temporarily living in a foster home until they find their family. If you would like to meet Gomez, we recommend scheduling an appointment with one of our Adoptions Specialists, so we can ensure they are here to meet you when you arrive. Please click “Adopt Gomez” to complete an interest survey and one of our Adoptions Specialists will connect with you to set up an appointment!* If you would like more info, please call/text our adoptions team 385-405-5145.

About Best Friends Animal Society

Best Friends is working to end the killing of dogs and cats in U.S. shelters in part by getting more pets out of shelters and into loving homes.

We’ve come a long way since the first known city reached no-kill in 1994, and now we’re closer than ever to making the entire country no-kill. Of the roughly 3,900 shelters operating in America today, 1,300 of them are not yet no-kill, but nearly half are close with 100 or fewer additional pets to be saved, and we know what to do to get them there.

Best Friends is committed to working with passionate people like you to save homeless pets through adoption, volunteering, fostering, and advocacy. In addition to our lifesaving centers around the U.S, we also founded and run the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals.

Working together, we can save homeless pets in our communities and secure a better future for our best friends. Together, we will bring the whole country to no-kill.
