Salsa Macha is a charming boy with a gentle heart and a whole lot of love to give. He may start off a bit shy and cautious in a new environment, but don’t be fooled — once he decides you’re safe, your lap quickly becomes his new throne. This sweet guy thrives on closeness and affection and would do best in a home where his people are around often and happy to share their space (and furniture!). After his initial settling-in period, Salsa Macha blossoms into a major snugglebug. He loves being petted, brushed, talked to, and especially cuddling while you’re relaxing on the couch or in bed. At night, he’s happiest curled up right beside you — sometimes even stretched across your chest — purring loudly the whole time. He’ll also seek you out during the day, hopping onto desks and laps to be close and soak up attention. Salsa Macha is mellow, well behaved, and easy to live with. He doesn’t bother furniture, isn’t destructive, and is content as long as he has plenty of love and a cozy, tucked-away spot where he can feel safe and recharge. While he can be a bit skittish with sudden movements or after time apart, it’s clear he’s simply seeking reassurance — and he continues to build trust more every day. If you’re looking for a loyal cuddle companion who wants to be near you as much as possible, Salsa Macha is ready to claim his place in your heart (and on your lap). About Best Friends Animal Society

Best Friends is working to end the killing of dogs and cats in U.S. shelters in part by getting more pets out of shelters and into loving homes.

We’ve come a long way since the first known city reached no-kill in 1994, and now we’re closer than ever to making the entire country no-kill. Of the roughly 3,900 shelters operating in America today, 1,300 of them are not yet no-kill, but nearly half are close with 100 or fewer additional pets to be saved, and we know what to do to get them there.

Best Friends is committed to working with passionate people like you to save homeless pets through adoption, volunteering, fostering, and advocacy. In addition to our lifesaving centers around the U.S, we also founded and run the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals.

Working together, we can save homeless pets in our communities and secure a better future for our best friends. Together, we will bring the whole country to no-kill.
