Meet Willow—a sweet and soulful 1-year-old black retriever/lab mix with a gentle heart and a loving spirit. While she may take a moment to warm up, once she does, she’s all about affection and will happily soak up every pet and cuddle you’re willing to give. Willow is both crate trained and house trained, making her an easy addition to a structured home. She gets along well with other dogs and would truly thrive in a household where she has a canine companion to help her feel comfortable and confident. With her calm demeanor and loyal nature, Willow is the perfect mix of playful and peaceful. She’s looking for a patient, loving home that will give her the time she needs to blossom into the devoted companion she’s meant to be.

Best Friends is working to end the killing of dogs and cats in U.S. shelters in part by getting more pets out of shelters and into loving homes.

We’ve come a long way since the first known city reached no-kill in 1994, and now we’re closer than ever to making the entire country no-kill.
